Welp, we did the thing.

The Spirited City: Lux is now out in the world, and I could not be more thrilled/fillled with anxiety.

Sharing art is something I am used to, but never has it been in this particular form. When I would release music, there was always that gut-twisting feeling when a new record of mine would drop, and I would immediately be filled with dread.

Will they like it?

What if it’s absolute garbage?

Who let me release this fucking thing?

Yes, yes, all those feelings are still very much there, it seems. No changes at all. So yes, I am familiar with this self-sabotaging feeling. And yes, it will pass quickly and turn over wholly to positively reinforced pride and accomplishment.

Thank you to everyone who has been there to encourage, but also course-correct. I fell madly in love with this process, and I am genuinely creatively fulfilled and excited to share these stories with you.

Come back with your thoughts, theories, complaints, and stern plot demands moving forward. I am so elated to be able to finally live in this made-up world with other people. I feel a little less crazy, I think. Thank you for that.

Read the goddamn book and then come back and talk to me about it.
